I removed a fluorescent light and the fixture started smoking, what's wrong?
Posted on 14. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
I removed the bulbs from the flourescent light fixture above my office desk, there were 3 long tube lights inside of it. 32W sylvanias. After I removed the third light, the fixture started billowing white smoke for a few minutes until we shut off the lights, then it stopped. When I turned the lights all back on we have seen no more evidence of smoke. What happened? I was removing the lights because I’m getting a nicer desk lamp in my office and I didn’t have a switch for the fluorescents over my head (building controlled).

Posted on 12. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
I just moved into my apt almost 5 months ago. I have a couch, rug under the couch, coffee table with candles, tv with the tv stand (32 inch) also my lamp, my computer desk but I’ll be moving that into my other room. I just ordered two posters to decorate, what else can I use to make it look even better or more cozier?

Bedroom Decoration Help?
Posted on 11. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
I’m a 15 year old guy and I want to re-do my bedroom. My idea was to have Van Halen Frankenstein wallpaper or paint and have posters of my favorite bands all over the walls and ceiling. Then I’d have a twin bed in the middle with Van Halen Frankenstein Bed sheets and comforter with black pillow cases (or maybe red), then at the foot of the bed have a black or red egg chair facing a small flat-screen HD TV with my Xbox hooked up to it. I want to put a black dresser to the side of my bed and a black bedside table right next to it. Then I would put my stereo on top of the dresser and on the other side of my bed I’d have an area with a guitar stool, amp, and my guitar all set up there and right next to that I’d have a black desk for school work with a comfortable black office chair. I’ll obviously have some lamps and other junk in there but this is the main stuff that im focused on. I think i can easily get a black dresser, bedside table, desk, and office chair. The xbox setup is only if my parents can afford it because i can’t. My main issue is that I can’t find any Van Halen Frankenstein Bed sheets/comforter, or wallpaper/paint. Are there people that will come to your house, look at a design and paint it on your wall? Without you having to buy a wallpaper? I don’t think I want to risk messing up my room by trying to paint the frankenstein design so surely there are people who could professionally do this for me right? And do you know of any place where i could get twin Van Halen Frankenstein bed sheets/comforter? thanks I’d really appreciate your help.
-Chandler
One other thing: Is there a way I could get a cheap egg chair? The ones I’ve looked at so far are about 0 and that’s definitely wayyy too expensive maybe there are some less fancy ones for around 200$ max?
I’ve shared the idea with my parents btw and I already have an xbox I just need to get the egg chair and the TV for that part of it and I could probably get the TV for my upcoming birthday in less than a month.
I’m 5’10 btw so do u think I could fit on a twin bed?

What should I buy for my new apartment?
Posted on 09. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
My husband and I are moving from his parents house to our own place on Thursday.
I have these items already:
Queen size Bed
2 large dressers
dining room table
couch
2 small computer desks
dishes, flatware, pots & pans
4 table lamps
wall decor (nothing fancy) I need a good piece of artwork.
Kitchen comes with appliances.
Here’s the floor plan of the apartment.

guess I should’ve added… my husband and I are huge gamers. We have every console known to man. So far we only have a 19 inch tv. But, he’s going to get a big screen hdtv. I do need to find a big entertainment center to display all of our goodies.
Our couch is a sectional. But, I’m taking the connector piece out of the middle. I’m going to have the couch strech across as one piece. And have the back wall of the living room be our focal point for the entertainment items.
Also, for the person who asked about the computers, yes, we have 1 for him and 1 for me.

!Trying to listen to music at work.!?
Posted on 08. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
I’m trying to find a door chime for my office that will sound and light up in someway when someone opens the door. The reason is I want to listen to music on my headphones in the back room and still know when someone opens the front door. I found something similar for the hearing impaired that would turn a lamp on and off. The only problem was that the sound it made sounded like a car horn. Since there is a business next to me, and I don’t want to scare off customers, I need it to have a chime, not an alarm.

Can my landlord evict me for a stained carpet ? I'm in Arizona.?
Posted on 06. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
My landlord just gave me a 2 day notice that they intend to inspect my apartment. Ive lived here for 3 years. I have never had an inspection before. Now, everyone in my building got a notice. I have never been late even once with my rent. My neighbors say they can go through all of your stuff, open drawers, and closets and boxes. They also say they can evict you if your apartment doesn’t look like a picture in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. My apartment is reasonably clean, but I have a very shabby couch with a hole in it , an old scratched coffee table I got at Goodwill, a very old TV on a scratched stand, a computer desk I found at a yard sale, I don’t own a dining room table and chairs. I have my stereo sitting in the small area where
the dining area is. My kids rooms have beds in them I got at a thrift store and toy boxes, but they don’t have dressers and their clothes are in boxes neatly folded. My mattress and box springs are on the floor and I don’t have night stands or dressers. I have a couple of boxes to put lamps on and my alam clock. My clothes are in boxes too -neatly stacked. The carpet was white when I moved in, but now even though I vacum a lo, it looks grey and there are some kool aid stains on it. I dont have any money to move -I’m barely making ends meet, now. Can they evict me because my apartment doesn’t look like a showplace and my carpet isn’t white anymore ?

Why does my computer have lag when…?
Posted on 03. Sep, 2011 by Lighting Expert.
When I am on the internet I am perfectly fine, but sometimes when I am in an online computer game, like World of Warcraft or Battlefield, etc, I will get these odd lag spikes that slows the game down for a while and then it magically fixes itself in about 10 or 20 minutes and then starts again about 30 minutes later. If you play online computer games you will know how annoying this can be and how badly it can alter how effectively you play. Now, I have a router and Modem. Modem is Linksys cisco CM100 Cable Modem and my router is a Netgear RangeMax wireless router. The modem connection is cable. I do not know what cable company we have so I cannot answer that for you if you ask. We have standard cable though, if that makes a difference (when you get like channels 1-20 or whatever). We canceled it due to my sister moving out, and I rarely watch tv. Plus no one is ever really in the house to watch tv anyway. The Modem and Router sit on my computer desk and my pc is literally like 2 or 3 feet away from them. I do not know what wireless connector I use in my PC. I believe it is some sort of Linksys range max (it has 2 antenna’s). Both antenna’s are pointing toward the modem and router. There are no real metals in my room that can throw the signal off other then some tiny greek mythology statue’s I have on my table by my bed and one of those tall lamps with 3 separate lights, both those are on the side with my pc so I cant see that being a problem. Uhhhhhh, connection is security protected and i’ve ran my anti virus and have done a file wipe or w/e it’s called with the anti virus. No viruses. The stuff is not too old. the computer was maybe built in 08/09 and bought the modem and router in like 2009 or 2010 and the graphics card is a Nvidia 8500. When I am playing I do not have anything else open (multi tasking can cause lag). So is there any way to fix this or will lag always naturally happen? If you need any other information please feel free to ask and I will do my best to provide it for you. I live on the East Coast if that makes a difference, and no, the lag is not due to the earthquake or the coming of Hurricane Irene if you are going to try to suggest that
Thanks for any help. Much appreciated.
Alright I checked everything and it was all fine. Checked everything you told me to check. I got a new anti virus and deleted 6 viruses from my pc and did a quarantine. Logged in and still get the lag.
